Amritsar decked up to host G20 meet from today!!!!

Amritsar is fully geared up to host the G20 meet on education set to begin on Wednesday and all arrangements, including those related to security, have been put in place, officials said. While several G20 events are scheduled to be held in Amritsar, the Union Ministry of Education will host the second Education Working Group (EdWG) from March 15-17, which will see participation from G20 member countries, guest countries, and invited organisations such as UNESCO and UNICEF. The L20 meeting on labour is scheduled for March 19-20.

The three-day event will have a seminar, an exhibition and working group meetings. To ensure foolproof security for the mega event, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav visited Amritsar on Tuesday to review the security arrangements and held meetings with senior officials. “I visited Amritsar on Tuesday to review security arrangements and hold meeting with all stakeholders who are working to make the event successful, keeping in mind safety and security of all,” he tweeted. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently asked officials to gear up to ensure the G20 meet is a success. Meanwhile, the delegates who reached here to take part in various events received a warm welcome by district administration officials.


अधिकारियों ने बताया कि अमृतसर बुधवार से शुरू होने वाले शिक्षा पर जी-20 सम्मेलन की मेजबानी के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार है और सुरक्षा सहित सभी इंतजाम कर लिए गए हैं। जबकि कई जी 20 कार्यक्रम अमृतसर में आयोजित होने वाले हैं, केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्रालय 15-17 मार्च से दूसरे शिक्षा कार्य समूह (एडडब्ल्यूजी) की मेजबानी करेगा, जिसमें जी 20 सदस्य देशों की भागीदारी देखी जाएगी।

तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में एक संगोष्ठी, एक प्रदर्शनी और कार्य समूह की बैठकें होंगी। इस बड़े आयोजन के लिए पुख्ता सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए पंजाब के डीजीपी गौरव यादव ने सुरक्षा व्यवस्था की समीक्षा करने के लिए मंगलवार को अमृतसर का दौरा किया और वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ बैठकें कीं। उन्होंने कहा, ''मैंने सुरक्षा इंतजामों की समीक्षा करने और सभी की सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने के लिए काम कर रहे सभी हितधारकों के साथ बैठक करने के लिए मंगलवार को अमृतसर का दौरा किया। 


A seminar on ‘Strengthening Research and Promoting Innovation through Richer Collaboration’ will be organised at Khalsa College here on Wednesday by IIT Ropar in collaboration with other prominent higher education institutions such as Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, IIM Amritsar and Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The two-day meeting on March 16-17 will provide a platform to deliberate on four priority areas – Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Tech-enabled Learning, Building Capacities, and Strengthening Research and Innovation, said K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary (Higher Education) in the Ministry of Education.
